Piglets Room
We are the Piglets Team; we work with children from 6 weeks to 2 years old.
Our room is all-year round, meaning we are open throughout the half-term holidays, as well as Easter and Summer Holidays. We are closed during the Christmas Holidays! Our room is open from 8am until 6pm.
All about Piglets Class
Each new child is encouraged to do gradual visits before they start to build a happy, healthy relationship with their key worker and familiarize themselves with the nursery environment, this will also include a home visit.
The staff provide consistency of care for each child by following their routine at home as much as possible.
Babies are loved, nurtured and provided with a range of toys, equipment and activities in a stimulating environment.
Each child will be allocated a pram or a cot with their own bedding, to sleep in when they are tired through discussion with parents.
We have a separate sleep area (not pictured above) where children will be closely monitored by staff at all times and checked every 10 minutes while they are sleeping. This is recorded on a chart and signed by staff, feedback is given to parents.
Piglet’s staff ratio is:
Under 6 months – 1 adult : 1 baby
6 months to 12 months – 1 adult : 2 babies
Over 12 months – 1 adult : 3 babies
