Our Classes

We have various different classrooms within our setting, each of which is for a different age group or session type. Classrooms have a different staff to child ratios, and depending on the children’s  development, the room focuses on different areas of the EYFS. All-year Round Rooms:

 Piglets is our baby room – children from the age of birth to 22 months. Piglets is open all year round.

Pooh Bears is one of our 2 year old rooms – children from 22 months to 36 months. Poohs is open all-year round.

Little Tiggers is our 3 year old room – children over 36 months that aren’t going to Primary School by the end of the year. Little Tiggers is all-year round room, however some children are term-time only.

Big Tiggers is one of our Preschool rooms – children whom are due to move up into Primary School by the end of the year. Big Tiggers is open all-year round and is for families who use more than their funded hours.

Term-time Only Rooms:

Rabbits is one of our 2 year old rooms – children from 22 months to 36 months. Rabbits is open term-time only and a funded session room.

Eeyores is one of our Preschool rooms – children whom are due to move up into Primary School by the end of the year. Eeyores is open term-time only and a funded session room.

Focus Group is our class run by the SENDCo Team. The focus group is for children whom may need additional support and those children with IEPs (Individual Educational Plans).

 

How do we assess the development of your child?

Throughout the nursery we use the same assessment system for all children. As children grow and develop, they are assessed at an age appropriate level from the EYFS. Each child is assessed in the Prime Areas and Specific Areas, and staff assess their key children twice every term. Parents and carers can arrange parent consultations with their child’s key worker to discuss their development and what their next steps will be.
