Our Classes

We have several different classrooms within our setting, each of which is for a different age group or session type. Classrooms have a different staff to child ratios, and depending on the children’s development, the room focuses on different areas of the EYFS.

Some of the photos of the classrooms can be clicked on to be easier to see! Please do so if you are using a phone or have a hard time reading the images as they are displayed otherwise.

Piglets

Birth to 22 Months

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am until 6pm
  • Open School Holidays
  • Closed Weekends
  • Closed Bank Holidays

“Hi I’m Nicky, the Room Leader of Piglets! If you have any questions, feel free to message me on ClassDojo or give the nursery a call and ask to speak to me”

Piglets is our baby classroom for children from the age of birth to 22 months. Piglets have moved from the main building into a purpose-built building at the front of our site, called the Honey Jar.

Each child is encouraged to do gradual visits when they join us, so they start to build a happy, healthy relationship with their key worker and familiarize themselves with the nursery environment. This allows them to transition smoothly from time with their families to spending time at the nursery, and teaches them their new routine going forward.

Each child is unique so we will discuss their routines and comforts with you, and we will do our best to replicate routines from home at nursery.

Babies are loved, nurtured and provided with a range of toys, equipment and activities in a stimulating environment. We have a messy room, a large play room central to our unit and a combined sleep area and snack/meal area.

Infants are closely monitored by staff at all times and checked every 10 minutes while they are sleeping. This is recorded on a sleep chart and signed by staff; feedback is given to parents when they arrive to collect at the end of their session.

Pooh Bears

22 to 36 Months

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am until 6pm
  • Open School Holidays
  • Closed Weekends
  • Closed Bank Holidays

“Hi I’m Sam, the Room Leader of Pooh Bears! If you have any questions, feel free to message me on ClassDojo or give the nursery a call and ask to speak to me”

Pooh Bears is one of our toddler classrooms, for children from the age of 22 months to 36 months. This room is for children who attend nursery throughout the school year and during holiday times – some of the children are funded, whilst others are not.

In our Pooh Bears room, your child will experience a loving, nurturing and adventurous environment. We encourage children through play to share, being kind, turn-taking and being able to understand their own feelings and behaviour and learning right from wrong.

However for children this is a steep learning curve and, through patience, positive role modelling and activities along with lots of fun, children learn these new skills.

Your child will begin to learn social skills and will enjoy the company of others as well as making good relationships with the adults, especially their own key person.

In the Pooh Bears room we are always busy looking at books, singing and we spend lots of time outside having fun. We also love being messy with pretty much anything including painting, sticking, sand, gloop and cooking as well as eating.

Rabbits

22 to 36 Months

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8am until 4pm
  • Closed Sch Holidays
  • Closed Weekends
  • Closed Bank Holidays

“Hi I’m Mel, the Room Leader of Rabbits! If you have any questions, feel free to message me on ClassDojo or give the nursery a call and ask to speak to me”

Rabbits is our second toddler classroom, for children from the age of 22 months to 36 months. This room is for children who attend nursery throughout the school year and NOT during holiday times – some of the children are funded, whilst others are not or use more than their funded hours.

In our Rabbits room, we encourage children through to be kind, take turns and share toys, understand their feelings and behaviours, and learning right from wrong, using both adult led and child led activities and play.

For children of this age range however, this is a steep learning curve. Through perseverance, positive modelling from adults in the room and activities throughout their time in Rabbits, the children will learn these new skills.

At this age children will be developing their social skills and building good relationships with their peers and the adults around them, especially their key worker.

We are always looking for opportunities to explore the great outdoors, like visiting the great, big garden at the back of the nursery. We also like making music with our drums and maracas, as well as singing, sticking, playing in our sand pit, and lots and lots of painting.

Roos

Small Groups

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9am until 2pm
  • Closed Sch Holidays

“Hi I’m Laura, the lead SENDCo at the Gooseberry Bush! Feel free to email me if you have any enquiries!

Roos is not a permanent class like the others but is rather an on-site place for small groups to do specific activities together, which vary depending on the time of year, the individuals attending and what groups are being provided.

Roos is led by Laura, our on-site SENDCo, who leads small groups from classrooms across the site and their staff in doing specific activities with the children. This can involve activities aimed to support child’s communication and language skills, such as Tizzy Time, or leading a yoga class to support the children’s development and emotional resilience.

Roos also provides a soft-play area within the conservatory so children are able to explore and climb in a safe environment which is calmer than their main classrooms. Whilst Roos is closed during school holidays, soft-play is always available throughout the school year.
