How do I get my child to start?
Our priority is making sure all families are comfortable and happy for their child to start with us before they enroll. To do this, we offer tours for families interested in our setting.
During your tour you can meet our staff team, view our classrooms and ask any questions you might have about our routines and day-to-day goings on.
After your tour, you would be invited to complete a waiting list form or enrollment form! We do not charge an enrollment or cancellation fee so if you do change your mind, just let us know.
Enrollment forms are for those who have a guaranteed space, whilst waiting list forms are for those waiting for a space to open up.
Once you have completed a waiting list form, your child is on our books for a space.
Our Waiting List
As mentioned above we do have a waiting list for families who would like to reserve a space for their child. We use our waiting list to predict our class numbers for each term and school year.
Our waiting list is open for all ages however please be aware we will not be able to confirm exact start dates until nearer your child’s intended start date.
Funding
What can funding be used for?

Only usable during Term-time
Funding can only be used during term-time which is when schools are open. For the ease of families whose children attend our setting and Rosemellin Community Primary School, we follow their school dates where possible.
Our setting follows the standard yearly school calendar for Cornwall, which you can find here: Term Dates for GBDN
Funding can also be split across settings; so for example your child could attend one nursery for 10 hours and attend another for 5 hours and you can using your funding at both settings. You will need to declare this on your child’s funding form.
What can funding not be used for?
● Nursery-prepared lunches
Funding cannot be used to cover the cost of nursery prepared lunches, such as cooked meals or nursery-made pack lunch. You can get more information here: Pack Lunches
● Half-Terms and Holidays
Funding cannot be used during the half-terms, Christmas Holidays, Easter Holidays or the Summer Holidays. Our setting follows the standard yearly school calendar for Cornwall, which you can find here: Term Dates for GBDN
● Inset Days / Teacher Training Days
Funding cannot be used for Inset Days; these used to be known as “Teacher Training Days”. For the ease of families whose children attend our setting and Rosemellin Community Primary School, we follow their school dates where possible.

Fees and sessions
Invoices are made and emailed out to families at the end of the month. Families have until the 10th of the month to inform nursery of any errors with their bill, at which point we will update them as needed.
Sessions are charged by the hourly rate X the hours your child attended. Extra hours are charged at the hourly rate as well.
We do not do half-hourly rates or sessions, meaning you will be charged for a full hour if your child arrives earlier than their session starts, or if your child is collected after their session ends.
For example,
If your child’s session starts at 8am and ends at 1pm, but you collect them at 1:15pm, you will be charged a full hours rate for the late collection. Additionally if your child’s session starts at 8:30am and ends at 2:30pm, but you drop your child off at nursery at 8am, you will be charged a full hours rate for the early drop off.
Sick Days and ‘Days Off’ are not included in your invoices as you are only charged when your child attends nursery.
We require two weeks notice for changes to sessions, be the change the days you need or if you need a longer or shorter session. There must be availability for the sessions you require so please speak with your child’s Room Leader if you would like to change your child’s sessions.
There is a minimum of 3 hours per booked session. For example you cannot book a session for 8am until 10am as that is only 2 hours, and we find that children do not get much out of such short session times.
Our fees as of 1st November 2025:
| Type of Session | Cost for 2 to 4 yrs | Cost for under 2 yrs |
| Full-Day (8am until 6pm) | £67 | £75 |
| Morning Session (8am until 1pm) | £33.50 | £37.50 |
| Afternoon Session (1pm until 6pm) | £33.50 | £37.50 |
| School-Day (9am until 3pm) | £40.20 | £45 |
| Extra hours | £7 | £8 |
The fees above include the cost of snack & lunch within them.
Lunches:
Funding cannot be used to cover the cost of nursery-provided meals! If your child predominantly receives funding, you will be charged for lunches OR be required to provide your own packed-lunch, depending on your child’s age.
- Cooked meals will be £4.25 per day
- Nursery-made packed lunches will be £3.25 per day
The except to the rule is Piglets Room as packed lunches are not suitable for Under 2 Year Olds.
